Returning a work order to the utility

There are times when a utility contractor needs to return a work order to the utility. Common reasons include: the location can't be found, the meter can’t be replaced and requires additional work, the water meter is leaking, or the meter is in a confined space — such as under a house. These are just a few examples of when a work order should be returned to the utility.

  1. From the main menu, select Work.
  2. Under Work, select Orders. A list of work orders will appear.
  3. Find the work order you want to return to the utility and check the box in the left column.
  4. In the top right of the menu, click the Action button. A list of action options will appear.
  5. Click Return to Utility. The "WO Parameters" section will appear.
  6. In the bottom right section, select the appropriate Return to Utility Reason.
  7. Click the Run button to process the return.
  8. Once completed, the work order status will change to RTU and will no longer be available for dispatch.
